Look - a bear! A pouting bear someone had drawn on a bit of paper and left on Ace’s locker no doubt through one of the gaps on the upper part of the door. 

That was weird… A written note, even a single-sentence one, he would understand but a drawing of a bear…? It was cute, though. Perhaps there was not much to understand, that was the point! Maybe someone was leaving notes of this kind to everyone in school as a pleasant prank!

Ace folded the ripped paper, pocketed it and rummaged his locker for his Maths notebook, which was the reason why he’d opened the locker in the first place.
